The 7th graders have been working with Chief Halse to review the ideas that come from D.A.R.E.  The 7th grade curriculum focuses on “Keeping it REAL” and it is considered a refresher course for the students which may have had it during 5th grade D.A.R.E.

“Keeping it REAL” reminds students to REFUSE bad choices, EXPLAIN your ideas and share reasons, AVOID bad situations and LEAVE situations that you don’t want to be in as a young adult.  The lessons consisted of videos, discussions, role plays, and review games.  Chief Halse led ten sessions with this group of students and worked with Mrs. Lenth during her class time for the 7th graders.  The students then created a digitial project about the D.A.R.E. topics using PowerPoint, Prezi or iMovie.

Chief Halse’s time to help remind us of making good choices was appreciated.  The classes finished their last session on December 1 with a few treats and a review test.
