Volunteer to Help Postville Host the District Speech Contest

image of hands

Postville is hosting District Speech contest on Saturday, January 19th, 2019.  (Contest will run from 8am-5pm)  This is great opportunity to show off our Pirate Pride and we can't do this without your help!  Also, you get to spend a day watching awesome performances!

We are anticipating 20 schools coming to contest, which means we will have several hundred students, parents and spectators visiting our buildings!  As such, we need and greatly appreciate volunteers to help work at contest!

We will need time keepers, people to introduce contestants, hallway monitors, admissions, office workers, help with food, help unloading sets/props in the FAC,  and so on.

To give you an idea of how many volunteers will be needed:  If we have ten performing rooms, 2 workers per room, with workers covering a half day, that's 40 volunteers alone!  That's not counting the other jobs we need to cover!

We really do need your help to make this event successful, not only for our own students, but students from all over NE Iowa.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

If you are interested in volunteering please contact Derek Friederich or call the school at 563-864-7651.

Or, buy them uncooked and grill for yourself this summer. All racks come vacuum sealed and are pre-cooked, so all you have to do is throw them on the grill, heat through and enjoy!

Thespians will also be selling: soda, water, monster cookies, ice cream sundaes, root beer floats and chips.

All proceeds go to support troupe activities and honors for 2018-19.
