Pre-Employment Strategies Students Learn Outside of School

Business People

Postville's Pre-Employment Strategies class helps prepare students for their future college or career. As part of our course, the students are expected to complete a job shadow or college visit. This experience can help them make a strong career choice. The students have been given information and steps to follow to arrange a job shadow process or a college visit.

Students that need help making connections will be supported and encouraged to use their networks for this opportunity.

Students may be excused from school to go on their job shadow (minimum of two hours) or college visit.

If you are interested in taking this course in the future and have questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Lenth.

Students & parents of students that are currently taking this class should check the items below in order to insure that the students get the most out of their experience with the least distraction to their regular education.

  • This experience and the written paragraphs are due on Friday, May 3, 2019. Since this is a college-level class, no late work is accepted.
  • Please talk with your student and plan ahead for the time students will need to be excused from school for their job shadow or college visit. Teresa, the HS school secretary, will need to be informed of the date, time and place of the event. Students must have permission to leave / miss school. Please note that there are also many days where school is dismissed early or there is no school, such as March 29. Please plan ahead and use this opportunity to learn more about a possible career or program.

Parents and students that have question should contact Mrs. Lenth.
