English IV – Fine Arts Literature

Fine Arts Literature is a one semester elective course intended for students who want to further their education after high school and want to improve their reading analysis skills. Students will learn how to interpret literature, discuss its themes, and effectively communicate their findings verbally and in formal essays, research papers, and literary criticisms. Literature selections will include a sampling of short stories, poetry, drama, non-fiction, and epics from the “classics.” A concentration is on the effects of literature on society and vice versa, along with cultural traditions and architecture of people around the world throughout history.
