On Friday, October 14th, Speech coach Derek Friederich received the Iowa High School Speech Association President's Award at the 50th Annual Iowa Speech Coaches Convention. Derek was recognized for 4 years of service as Northeast District Officer. Also at convention, Derek was a presenter during a breakout session offering guidance to new and inexperienced coaches. He continues to serve the IHSSA as a member of the CAST scheduling team.
